Bayeux Tapestry Project Talk & Display

Bayeux Tapestry Project Talk & Display

SKU: 364215376135191

My name is Mia Hansson and I'm working on a full scale replica of the Bayeux Tapestry. My aim is to make my version as close to the original as possible, the way it may have looked when it was brand new.

Since 2017, I have been taking part of the replica out for events, during which I do a 1 hour presentation of my project from a handicraft point of view. I thrive on interaction from the audience and prefer to base my talk on questions I get during the event.

My catchment area is within a 1 hour drive from North Cambridgeshire. For bookings outside this area, I can offer an event via Zoom.

To book, please get in touch via this website or my Facebook group - Mia's Bayeux Tapestry Story. You won't be disappointed.

    For a private group:

I offer a 1 hour talk about the project and a display of part of my embroidery, with an opportunity for the audience to study the embroidery for an additional 30 minutes after the presentation.

I will adapt the presentation to the group and suit it to any age. I have worked with children as young as 5 years old and adults close to 100 years old, with every age in between.

Please note that the talk is about my replica project, mentioning some history about the original tapestry, but not about the events depicted on the embroidery.

My catchment area is within a 1-hour drive from Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, UK. Mileage cost of £0.45/mile to and from the venue will be added to the speaker's fee. Bookings outside the catchment area can be done via Zoom.

An event can only be booked following a consultation, to ensure the best possible experience.

Please contact me for further information.

  • Price

The price for a 1 hour talk, plus another 30 minutes viewing and Q&A afterwards is £100. Mileage to and from the venue will be added to the speaker's fee.

Payment in cash or with a cheque payable to Anna Hansson is accepted on the day of the event.

  • Venue

The venue for the event needs to be wheelchair friendly and I require plenty of table space for the display of the tapestry. I don't need any technical equipment.

Parking suitable for a disability adapted vehicle near the venue is essential. I need to fold out a ramp at the back of the car.
