Creative Art
Using pencil, pen and needle to create art
In 2016 I started my Bayeux Tapestry replica project and quickly realised how much I enjoy this style of art work. Recreating an embroidered tapestry meant transferring the images and after plenty of practice of drawing the designs on my fabric, I branched out to draw them for other people to embroider as well. Until I have completed my full-scale replica, I won't take any embroidery or drawing commissions, but I have a waiting list to pick up when I'm ready to start working on side projects again.

I have created five colouring books in Bayeux-style: Mia's Bayeux Tapestry Colouring Book, Bayeux Behind the Scenes, Mia's Bayeux Fantasy Colouring Book, Special Occasions and Sport & Leisure, the last two books featuring the three kings from the Bayeux Tapestry. My latest book, Embroider the Bayeux Tapestry, contains full-scale iron-on patterns for you to embroider. It's published by Search Press. For more information, please pop along to 'Book of the Season', where you can find links to their website.

By now, there is also a series of Mia's Bayeux Tapestry Musings, an in-depth study of my Bayeux Tapestry replica project. So far, seven parts have been published. These can be purchased on Amazon via the links below.
Outside the Bayeux Tapestry project, I write and illustrate tales and fairy tales, some of which are custom-made for the young ones in our family.

Who knows what else the future will bring?

I couldn't do all the literary work on my own. One of my fabulous editors and proofreader happens to be a great friend, writer and famous harpist. Why not check out her website?https://www.amykortuem.com/
